Small is beautiful. Canon Digital IXUS technology has entered into the nano era with a resounding volley to the future. Known as IXY Digital in Japan and Powershot Digital ELPH in the US and Canada, these ultracompact, high resolution and yet robust and sturdy digital cameras has become owner’s pride since the day it was launched. It is not a statement; it is a signature of authority in line of sight technology.
This Canon Digital IXUS marvel has three resolution settings. These are superfine (1600X1200with 1700 KB JPEG), fine (1600X1200 with 720 KB) and small (640X480 with 130 KB) with only one picture effect of black & white mode. Canon Digital IXUS has one optical and two digital zooms. The zooming sequence is optical zoom followed by 2x digital zoom and again full wide optical zoom followed by 4x digital zoom. The 1.5-inch LCD display of Canon Digital IXUS at the rear is quite distinct as the grains are microscopic.

The internal flash has twin firing in succession with a maximum range of 3m wide and 2m distance. Canon Digital IXUS has two photo stitch mode. One is from left to right and the other its reverse. One gets the view of quarter of the previous image to enable stitching. This is survival of the best thinking. Room at the top has place for only quality at its best. Canon has succeeded amazingly to compact so many technologies in such a tiny space. It is as small as a credit card. The Canon Digital IXUS is as compact as a cigarette lighter.
This Canon Digital IXUS wonder has one more shot in its armour. The 3.7 volt, 60mAh and 29 gm Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery has been used for the first time. The charger supplied with the Canon Digital IXUS camera runs on 100-240 V at 50/60Hz and can fit in any standard socket.

Mr Adam S.
Compact and capable this ‘little number’ will take ‘close up (macro), landscape and portrait. Set to ‘auto’ and relax or choose ‘program’ mode to manually adjust scenes and other features (face recognition etc). Quick to snap and review is fairly pleasing. Good in low light and ‘macro’ (close-up) is good with sharp images. Optical zoom is acceptable with good image stabilization. Great first camera or someone who wants a mid-range snapper, robust for kids too!
